Mbilla
Arts is a Walthamstow-based Community Interest Company that promotes
education and performance programmes in West African drumming and
dance.
Our tutors have many years’ experience
teaching and performing in school and community settings in Waltham
Forest and neighbouring East London boroughs. We can also work with
groups to help them secure funding for ongoing programmes of
drumming and dance.
For further information call Chantelle
on 020 8503 3436 / 07940 966117 or visit our website at

Voluntary
Action Waltham Forest provides training in community
accountancy and workforce development with

Evolve is a new
initiative funded by Waltham Forest Primary Care Trust that works
with people over 18 years and who live in the borough of Waltham
Forest and are experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues
such as depression, anxiety, phobias, panic attacks, anxiety or
similar.
The
two main criteria to be able to access the project are that:
v
If the person is receiving treatment for their symptoms this
must be from their GP and not a mental health professional
v
They want to make some changes to their lives and are willing
to try to engage with an activity or service in the community with
support from one of the Evolve team
The
project’s team is made up of experienced and friendly workers who
are very happy to meet up for an informal discussion in the first
instance (subject to the GP of the client completing a very easy
referral form) and see what develops from that meeting.
So if
you feel you have nothing to lose except perhaps your mental health
issue then please give us a call on 020 8521 2975 or email
crestwf@crest.org.uk
for a free and confidential chat.
The
Children & Young People’s Services network is the main voice for
children’s services providers in the voluntary, community and
private sector working in Waltham Forest. It
encourages and increases partnership working among Waltham Forest’s
voluntary, community and private sector organisations. The
Network provides Waltham Forest Council’s Children’s Services, and
the Local Strategic Partnership, with a forum for communicating,
consulting and involving voluntary/community and private sector
providers in planning and reviewing children’s services including
issues such as funding and commissioning. The
Next Forum will be on 30th April from 4 – 7pm. Content
and venue are currently being decided and flyers will be distributed
within the next week or so.
Children’s services providers within the VCS in Waltham Forest need
to speak with one voice - joining the network is your opportunity to
do so.
