‘We Were There’ Exhibition
AHEC was pleased to arrange for the historical ‘We Were There’ exhibition created by the Ministry of Defence to visit East London for the first time earlier this year. Between 11th and 13th March 2009, the exhibition was on show at the Waltham Forest Assembly Hall between 10am and 5pm.

We Were There is a multimedia exhibition which was launched during Black History Month, 2006 by Derek Twigg MP, Minister for Veterans. It is designed to highlight the often under-recognised contributions made by men and women from Africa, Asia, the West Indies and other Commonwealth countries to Defence over the past 250 years. The exhibition has been on tour constantly since its launch and has been very well received by the public.
