Changing Lives
Events, workshops and other activities to provide cultural and educational support
to young people, helping them to nurture and develop their creativity.
One-to-one coaching, workshops, role-play, creative writing, research and trips
to places of cultural significance, with a leaning towards the creative arts.
English & Maths Tuition
Free one-to-one tuition sessions in English and Maths for young people up to 16
Parenting Classes
Help for parents to get to grips with the health and education systems, so they
can represent their children more effectively.
Activities and support for over 50’s
A lunch club, workshops and support service for elderly people in the community.
Volunteering
Offering volunteering opportunities to give job seekers work experience.
Advocacy and support
Free help and advice on dealing with housing, education, employment, health or any
other welfare issue.
Health workshops
Information and advice on HIV/AIDS, Sickle Cell and Thalassemia.
AHEC works with
people of all ages and all backgrounds to promote a positive image and understanding
of African culture and traditions.
By helping people to learn about African heritage,
and by helping people of African descent to understand the UK’s system and traditions,
we aim to create happier, more integrated communities.
